Okay, so now it begins
Once upon a time, there existed a giant tree, that was the source of all mana...
A war however, caused the tree to wither away and a hero's life was sacrificed in order to
take its place...
Greiving over the loss, the godess dissappeared unto the heavens, leaving the angels with
this edict:
"You must wake me, for if i should sleep, the world shall be destroyed."
The angels bore the chosen one who headed twords the tower that reached up to the heavens...
And that, marked the regeneration of the world.
"Lloyd Irving wake up!! Lloyd!... How do you mannage to sleep standing?"
" Oh, professor Raine, is class over," Lloyd asked.
"*sigh* nevermind. Lets have someone else answer the question. Genis, how about you?"
" Yes Raine. Mithos the hero brought about the end of the acient war in the holy ground of
kharlan," Genis replied
"Correct. Afterwards, Mithos, the hero, formed a pact with the goddess martel to seal away
the Desians, whom caused the war" raine explained
" But the desians came back and are now causing everyone to suffer!" Lloyd added.
"Qe covored that in class last time remember? when the seals weaken, the desians re- appear"
Raine said
" I... I knew that. I ... I just forgot"
" Today is the day of prophecy. It is a very important day, in which the chosen of mana will
recieve an oracle from the goddess martel. Now chosen one, colette" Raine said
" Yes Ma'am" colette replied.
"tell us about the journey of world regeneration." Raine asked
"It is a journey to seal the Desians. Upon passing toe trials of the goddess martel, the
summon spirits awaiken, and mana is restored." colette replied
"Correct. I suppose we should expect the chosen herself to know the answer to that one. Mana
depleation is the cause of current food shortages and draughtes. it is said that thes occours because the desians consume
vast ammounts of mana in their human ranches," raine added. Colette looks at Lloyd and smiles.
"The chosens journey has tow purposes-- to revive mana as well as to defeat the desians.
Now for the next question--"
A burst of light emits the classroom.
"what the..?" Lloyd gaspes
"Thats..." Colette whispers.
"settle down. it would seem that the time for the oracle has come. i will go and check on
the chapel. Everyone, stay here and study on your own, understood?" Raine asked
"Professor! ill go too!" colette replied.
" no colette. if it is the oracle the priests will come here for you. wait here with
everyone else." Raine said.
"Yes Ma'am" colette replied
Lloyd starts to leave, soon after Raine does.
" Lloyd! where are you going? Dont tell me your sneaking out! Raine will get mad!" Genis
said
" Im really curious to find out what really happens to colette when she recieves the
oracle. They always talk about the chosen of regeneration and the day of prophecy, but no one tells us what really happens!"
"But my sister said to stay and study"
"Its research"
"Thats just an excuse!"
"So? an excuse is an excuse right? dont be so stuffy. Your comeing too right? were best
friends after all! Colette want to come along too?"Lloyd asked
"...huh?... um... Okay! so where too?" she replied
"Where else?! That light! your directly involved in all of this. Arent you curious too?"
"Hmm... ary you curious about it?"
"Of course!"
" Okay! then ill be curious about it too!"
"See? Dwarven vow #4: Dont depend on others. walk on your own two legs. Okay then, to the
temple!"
"Not Dwarven vows again! You always use them when you need an excuse..." gensi said with
a sigh.
As they left the building they noticed that something wasnt right. the village seemed dead.
it was quiet and lifeless.
" Whats going on? its awfully quiet..." lloyd noticed
"Where did everyone go?" Genis asked
As they were leaving the village colettes father walks up to them.
"Colette" Frank yelled
"Father!" Colette replied
"Frank, what happened to everyone in the village?" Genis asked
"theyre all hiding. desians invaded the village a short while ago. thankfully no one was
hurt. They just passed through the village and headed for the temple." frand replied
"Why iselia has a non agression treaty with the desians?" Genis asked
"You mean the agreement where they dont attack the village as long as we leave the human
ranch alone?" lloyd asked
"yes, grandmother said it was to protect me. oh yes, where is grandmother?" colette asked
" Phaidra is in the temple preparing for the ritual" Frank explained.
"Phaidras in the temple? but thats where the desians..." Lloye gasped
" the preists are there with her. theres no need to worry. now colette..."
" I know. i promise to fufill my duty as the chosen." colette said
"good luck colette. Lloyd, Genis, you two should go on home."
" Im worried about letting colette go by herself. i'llgo with her to the temple" lloyd said
" me too." Genis said
"But... alright. thankyou. ill be at the house. come back immediately if anything happens."
Frank said
The group headed North West for the temple, where the desians, and the ritual awaited them.
